Stewardship Asia Roundtable 2016 Insights
On 17 August 2016, the Stewardship Asia Roundtable 2016 brought together 142 participants from
diverse organisations across 18 countries. Business leaders, policy-makers, regulators, investors,
asset-owners, board, management, and even some professors gathered to share and discuss their
perspectives and experiences of stewardship in a unique, engaging forum format that encouraged
all participants to contribute their observations crisply and freely. The three-hour Roundtable saw
enthusiastic participation, with many points of discussion - based on the theme of “The Stewardship
Edge”, focusing on innovation and practices as well as tackling challenges and dilemma – sharing
from a huge range of differing perspectives. The Chairman of the Roundtable Mr S Dhanabalan
succinctly summed-up the entire discussion in the one thought that stewardship in a nutshell is
about working from one’s values: “The stewardship edge comes out of doing the right thing, because
it is the right, moral thing to do”.
This report summarises the highlights of the discussion and the insights gleaned from
Stewardship Asia Roundtable 2016.
